AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC I
Pay Grade 35
($41,847 – $49,927)

Under general supervision of Superintendent (Central Garage) perform skilled work in repair and maintenance of gasoline and diesel powered equipment such as five (5) ton or larger dump trucks, heavy construction equipment, tractors, and emergency Police/Fire vehicles. Perform related duties as required. Work is assigned verbally and written and is generally checked by inspection and/or tested upon completion.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a High School Diploma/GED; or Trade School supplemented with technical training in the trade. Graduation from RI Trade Shop, New England Technical or comparable Diesel Schools may be substituted in lieu of two (2) years’ experience. Five (5) to seven (7) years’ experience required in truck (5 ton or greater) and heavy equipment repair and maintenance including work on a variety of diesel engines; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which meet the desired knowledge, skills and abilities of the position. Must have own tools. Must have a valid RI Commercial Driver’s License Class B with air break endorsement; and RI State Inspection License required. EVT or Master Truck Technician preferred but not required.

Online Content Developer
$36,000 - $43,000

Under the general supervision of the Chief Information Officer of the IT Division creates and posts content for the City of East Providence’s website and social media endeavors. Following the lead outlined in the City’s strategic plan, will work closely with Departments to create, edit, and proof read site content maintaining the site design standards. Creates and posts monthly articles, photographs and videos that promote, encourage and engage residents, existing and new businesses. Manages multi-platform digital communications designed to inform, engage and update residents and encourage new business. Additional responsibilities include responding to and assisting social media community. Coordinating and scheduling social media posts in advance of off days. Identifying opportunities to provide value to residents and businesses. Analyze social media and web content through monitoring tools.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR APPOINTMENT

Associate degree in marketing, communications or related field. Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications and Photoshop - Working knowledge of HTML and working in content management systems a plus. Any other equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the desired abilities, knowledge and skills. This position requires flexible hours including working weekend, holidays and evening special events.
