Harbor Commission
ANTHONY PERRY (CHAIRMAN)
The East Providence Harbor Management Commission is an advisory body to the city council and is responsible for the regulatory review of all coastal activities mandated within the city's harbor management ordinance and plan. The commission is responsible for the development of additional policies, rules and regulations for the implementation of the harbor management plan and the subsequent ordinances subject to the approval of the city council and the coastal resources management council.
The commission is composed of seven members, with representation from each of the following groups: Recreational boating community; commercial fishing industry; marina and boatyard operators; environmental groups; public access interests; inland representation; and one citizen at large. Members are appointed by the city council for terms consisting of two years. The Harbormaster is a nonvoting ex officio member of the commission.
The Harbor Management Commission meets on the first Tuesday of each month in City Hall, 145 Taunton Avenue, East Providence, RI 02914, in Room 308, at 7:00 PM. The public is always welcome to attend. Click here to review agendas.
